Barcelona Gothic Quarter Accomodation
I’m very impressed with the 4 Star Barri Gotic Hotels available because they cover a broad price spectrum as well as offering very different perspectives of Barcelona’s wonderful Gothic Quarter.
As in other hotel articles I’ve listed the hotels starting very approximately at Plaça de Catalunya and working down towards the port and seafront.
To be more specific, there are eleven hotels listed in total – 3 close to the Cathedral, 1 near Plaça Sant Felip Neri, 2 just off La Rambla on Carrer de la Boqueria, 2 more close to Jaume I Metro station and the final 3 down by the seafront.
If you read Barcelonas.com regularly, you’ll know that I generally recommend choosing accommodation in the area between Carrer Ferran and Plaça Catalunya and suggest avoiding the backstreets around Plaça Reial.
Not surprisingly, there are no 4 Star Hotels in this slightly dodgy area, so the three down close to the port are all highly recommendable.
However, being something of a city slicker, if you asked me to choose, I’d go for a hotel close to Plaça Sant Felip Neri, Barcelona Cathedral or Jaume I Metro Station but that’s just me!
